The Priory Community

The Anglican & Roman Catholic Churces of Christchurch

The Alpha Course and The Follow-up Course ‘Challenging Lifestyle’is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a way that is relaxed, non-threatening, low key, friendly and fun.

There is a meal together at the beginning of each session which gives everyone an opportunity to get to know each other.  There is no charge for these courses, although we do ask for a small contribution towards the meal.

After the meal, we divide into two groups, one to stay in the Hall to listen to the Speaker for the Alpha Course topic and the other to go into the Committee Room to listen to a CD talk by Nicky Gumbel on the chosen topic from ‘Challenging Lifestyle’.  Both sessions have a time for discussion and sharing thoughts at the end of the evening.  We usually finish about 9.15pm.

The Alpha Course consists of a series of talks looking at topics such as 'Who is Jesus?', 'Why and how do I pray?', ‘How does God guide us?’ and ‘Why and how should I tell others?’

The Follow-up Course has 19 talks and we start with 3 talks on ‘How to live under God’s Blessing’, ‘How to have an influence on Society’ and ‘How to understand the Old Testament’.  The Group will then decide on the talks they wish to cover for the remaining weeks of the course.

These courses are run on a Tuesday evening commencing at 7pm in Priory Hall, Princess Avenue, Christchurch.

If you'd like to come along to either of these courses, please contact us via parishoffice@christchurchpriory.org or telephone 01202 488645 (between 9.00am - 1.00pm weekdays) or leave a message on 01202 485804.

Listen, learn, discuss and discover... And ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile.
