High Cross Church (Anglican and United Reformed)

A new church has been built at Somerford which is shared by the Anglicans and the United Reformed Church (URC) in what is known as a Local Ecumenical Partnership. The Anglicans, who are part of the Parish of Christchurch, used to worship at the old St Mary's Church which was demolished to make way for the new church. The URC used to worship just round the corner at their old church. Now the two congregations have pooled their resources to build a wonderful modern church which will be the centre of the community. The two congregations hold separate services but cooperate in many different ways to further the Christian message in the area.
