The Priory is a popular venue for concerts. The unique atmosphere and spacious acoustic make it an ideal place to enjoy a wide variety of music. The Priory has its own Yamaha concert grand piano, which is used in many of the concerts.
For details of forthcoming concerts, please see the Events Calendar.
Organ Recitals – Thursdays, 12.30pm
The popular series of organ concerts takes place weekly on Thursdays, with 10 concerts each term.
The organ console is moved to the front of the nave to enable the performer to be in view of the audience.
Each recital lasts 45 minutes. Programmes are carefully balanced to ensure that there is always an approachable mix of music on offer. Performers are always of the highest quality – the draw of the organ, and the success of the series itself, ensures there is always a long list of distinguished organists wishing to play.
There is a large scale evening concert on at least one Saturday each month. Many of these take place by candlelight.
Choral Societies, orchestras and other ensembles provide a variety of musical styles. The Priory acts as the home venue for the Grange Choral Society.
Each December, there is a hugely popular performance of Handel’s Messiah.
There are other, occasional concerts throughout the year.
Groups wishing to enquire about hiring the Priory for a concert should contact the Head Verger for further details.

In the summer months, we promote a series of Celebrity Organ Recitals on Wednesday evenings. A full length programme with interval is offered by some of the top names in the organ world. Tickets are £7 on the door.
