Cloister Way

The Prior's door was re-opened in 1981 after being blocked up for 458 years since the Dissolution of the Priory in 1539. The door opened on to the Cloister and the other conventual buildings of the Priory, and was used by the Prior as the main processional entrance to and from the church.

Built in 1981, Cloister Way leads from the Prior's Door to Priory House. On its west side it has seven stained glass windows and each window has seven rondels (or roundels) depicting events in the history of the Priory including the legend of the Miraculous Beam and the visit to the Priory by Kaiser Wilhelm in 1901.
