The Lady Chapel

The Lady Chapel was completed in the early 15th century and is early Perpendicular Gothic in style.

The Reredos (screen) beneath the window dates from the mid 15th Century and has been greatly restored. It was originally decorated with paint & gold leaf, some traces of which can still be seen today. The niches in the screen would probably have housed statues at one time.

In front of the Reredos is the 11ft 9 inches (3.3m) long by 3ft 10 inches (1.2m) wide altar made from a single piece of Purbeck Marble.
