Accessibility at Christchurch Priory

We welcome everyone at Christchurch Priory and aim to provide for all to enjoy the architecture, atmosphere and history.  We are committed to making your visit as enjoyable and accessible as possible.  Our friendly team of staff and volunteers are here to help – please just ask.

Student Groups

We have many student groups visiting and it is helpful to you to let us know when you are intending on visiting including the date and time so that your visit is enjoyable.  Please contact parishoffice@christchurchpriory.org

Getting here

Christchurch train station is approximately a  15 minute walk away from  the Priory.  Bus services alight in the high street and there is a ferry service connecting Christchurch to Wick.

Parking

Christchurch Priory has a carpark which is run by Horizon parking, payment is on exit, and it is situated at the rear of the Priory adjacent to the Tea Rooms.

Wheelchair Access

Christchurch Priory is wheelchair accessible.  There is level access at the main entrance, North Porch and  into cloister way at the rear  of the Priory into the Tea Rooms.

Tower Tours and Museum tours are not accessible to wheelchair users as they have many steps up and down.

Toilets

Accessible, gender-neutral toilets and baby changing facilities are available off cloister way.  Please ask a member of staff for directions.

Additional toilets are located externally on the side of the carpark.

Neurodivergent visitors

Christchurch Priory can be busy at peak times, For a quieter experience we recommend visiting weekday mornings before 10.30 am.

Ear defenders are also available to borrow, please ask a member of staff.
