Guided Tours
Last updated Saturday, 2 September, 2023
If you are visiting the Priory there may be a steward available on the day to give a guided tour of the ground floor, please ask the welcome team. There is a charge of £6.50 per adult.
We also have Tower Stewards on duty on some days: a notice will be displayed when one is available. Tower Tours involve climbing 176 steps on an ancient spiral staircase to get a spectacular view towards Salisbury in one direction and the Isle of Wight and the Jurassic Coast in the other.
Private tours may be arranged but must be booked in advance - please email boxoffice@christchurchpriory.org or telephone 01202 143870 to make an enquiry.
Guided Tours Programme July to September 2023
We run a programme of special tours to parts of the building not generally open to the public: the Tower, Ringing Room and Bell Room (176 steps); St Michael’s Loft Museum (75 steps), the roof space above the Nave (103 steps, tight spaces and some clambering), and 2 of the 3 Crypts. A tour of the ground floor is included with these. New for this year is a tour of the Heraldry found in the Priory.
Or you may like to join us for a tour of the ground floor of the Priory Church, followed by a Cream Tea in the Priory Tea Rooms.
All tours in the Programme must be booked in advance, either online or by calling the box office on 01202 143870. Online bookings can be made here
